How much subsidy will you actually get for rooftop solar?
Under PM Surya Ghar the central subsidy is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for a third kW, so a household gets at most ₹78,000. This site shows the arithmetic, the steps, where to log in and what to check, and links every figure to its source.

Put in the size and the price you were quoted. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
For 3 kW the central subsidy is ₹78,000.
- Central subsidy
- ₹78,000
- Cost after subsidy
- ₹1,22,000
- Payback
- 4.2 years
Your quote works out to ₹66,667 per kW. You pay the full quote first; the subsidy is paid back to you afterwards. The savings figure is your own assumption (the share of your bill the system removes), not a measured result, and it ignores tariff changes, loan interest and maintenance.
